We are neighbors, parents, teens and kids who live in or right outside of Wheat Ridge. We are people who want to start the work of ending racism and other forms of marginalization in our city.
As Americans started protesting the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis, many people started asking, how can we address racism and the marginalization of others. This group was started by one family whose teenagers are Black people and have experienced racism in our community. That family started peacefully protesting on June 7, 2020.
Help Wheat Ridge residents learn more about racism and white privilege.
Build coalitions to address institutional racism at the city and county level.
Create a sense of safety in our city for people who are marginalized because of their race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation or ability.
