We are a diverse group of neighbors, parents, teens, and children united as proud members of the Wheat Ridge community. Together, we work and create joyful experiences to ensure that every individual feels safe, valued, and welcomed. We firmly believe that our collective resilience strengthens our community.

 Following the tragic murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis, a significant wave of protests erupted across America, urging many to address the urgent issues of racism and the marginalization of individuals within our society. Inspired by these events, a Wheat Ridge family, whose Black teenagers have experienced racism firsthand in our community, decided to take action. On June 7, 2020, they organized a peaceful protest, demonstrating a strong stand against injustice and a commitment to fostering change. Hundreds of Wheat Ridge residents showed up in support.

 Wheat Ridge for Equity passionately advocates and mobilizes efforts to uplift those who have been marginalized or overlooked by the dominant culture. This includes individuals from the LGBTQ++ community, BIPOC communities, immigrants, and those who practice different religions or possess varying abilities. Our mission is clear: to cultivate a Wheat Ridge that embraces and champions everyone.
